Privacy Policy
Your movies, shows and home videos, on iPhone and Apple TV, without collecting your data.
Effective October 2, 2026
Who we are
REPLAY (“REPLAY”, “we”, “us”) is an app for iPhone and Apple TV, designed and built by Joseph Rochlin (Jöí Fabü). Questions about this policy: [email protected].
Information we collect
None. REPLAY does not collect your name, email, contacts, location, device identifiers or usage analytics, and contains no advertising or third-party tracking code. We don’t run servers for REPLAY, so there is nowhere for your information to be sent to us.
Your videos
- Photos access. With your permission, REPLAY opens the videos you choose and plays them from your Photos library. On Apple TV, it plays the same videos from your iCloud Photos. Your videos are never uploaded to us or copied anywhere else.
- Sorting and artwork. REPLAY reads your videos’ file names, lengths and dates on your device to sort them into channels. It picks scenes and makes covers and Continue Watching images on your device.
- Subtitles. When you turn on Make subtitles, REPLAY uses Apple’s speech recognition on your iPhone. The audio never leaves your device.
iCloud sync
Your channels, their order, favorites, progress, paused frames, covers, subtitles and settings are stored in your own private iCloud account, so your iPhone and Apple TV stay in step. This data is protected by Apple and is not accessible to us. If iCloud is off, REPLAY keeps everything on your device.
TheTVDB
When Find cover art and details is on (Settings › Library), REPLAY looks up titles it recognises from your file names, such as a show’s name, on TheTVDB to fetch posters, episode titles and descriptions. Only that title is sent, with no personal information. TheTVDB’s own privacy policy applies to that lookup. Turn the switch off and nothing is looked up.
Sharing
When you tap Share, such as for your Lifetime video or poster, it goes only where you choose, and that service’s own privacy policy applies.
Purchases
Subscriptions and Lifetime purchases are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details. Apple gives REPLAY a record of your purchase so the app can confirm REPLAY Pro on your devices, as described in Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Children
REPLAY doesn’t knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13.
Your choices
- Turn Photos access on or off in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Photos.
- Turn TheTVDB lookups off in REPLAY › Settings › Library.
- Deleting REPLAY removes its data from that device. To remove synced data, delete REPLAY’s data in iOS Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage Storage.
